The offshore working life

At Pioneer Subsea, we understand that a career in the offshore industry is more than just a job – it really is a way of life. Those that choose to work in the industry are at the forefront of innovative engineering projects, very often in environments that demand the very best in skill, resilience, and teamwork.

A major feature of the ‘offshore life’ is rotation – focused work periods which include short stints to longer months away at a time, followed by time at home.

A successful work project in the offshore industry is never about one person; it’s a team effort. From the engineers and technicians to the support staff, everyone does their bit, and that includes accepting a rotation that may take you away from your friends and family at certain times throughout the year.

As the winter months fast approach, and the requests for contractors come thick and fast, we really do get it – working offshore in winter, especially in the North Sea, is tough.

We’ve been there – at Pioneer Subsea we’re offshore professionals ourselves. We don’t pretend it’s easy, but we do ensure that the professional environment you’re contracted in provides the support you may need when working offshore.
